Water/Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project

March 2024

Residents in the “Edgefield and Northwood Area” of Crestwood should expect excavation and construction work in streets and, in some cases, back yard easements, beginning March 2024.  An authoritative description of the project, including a map, is located on the City website at this link: Project 103361, Edgefield.

A Webex community information meeting was held February 12. Video recordings of that meeting are available at the City link.

City project manager Clayton Torrance announced that the contract for the work had been awarded to Woody Contractors Inc., and that Woody expects to begin work around March 15, working north to south.

As the project progresses, these individuals can provide information and response to affected residents:

Crestwood Neighborhood Swim/Pool Survival Program

Cactus Hope Survival Swim will be offering a 6 week survival swim lesson session in the Crestwood neighborhood June 2 - July 10. Lessons are every day Monday through Thursday. This is a 6 week commitment.

Each swim lesson is one on one with the instructor and scheduled for ~15min each. This allows for your child to receive undivided attention and an individualized lesson. Lessons are scheduled typically in the morning.

Cactus Hope Survival Swim is committed to encouraging a lifelong love of swimming by offering quality one-on-one survival swim lessons with a gentle approach for young children. Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death among children 5 and under, but it is our mission to offer HOPE.

The Swim Float Survive program is a unique style of swimming lessons offered for children in effort to teach them the aquatic skills necessary to be safe, comfortable and confident in and around water.

Governance and Legal Status of
the Crestwood Association

The Crestwood Association was
incorporated in Texas in 1981. As a nonprofit corporation, the Association is exempt from US income taxation under Internal Revenue Code sec. 501(c)(4); donations to the Association are not tax deductible.

The Association's governing document is its bylaws, last amended in January, 2024: a copy of those bylaws is available here.

The Association's governing body is its board of directors, constituted as prescribed by the bylaws. The board (comprised of block representatives, elected officers and appointed chairs) meets the first Monday of the month, several months each year. All residents are welcome to those meetings, which are announced in the GATHERINGS tab of this site.

As prescribed by the bylaws, a meeting of the entire membership is held in January each year, typically on a Saturday morning. Officers are elected for the coming fiscal year at that meeting, and annual reports are given. See GATHERINGS for meeting details.
